In Hyderabad, BRS MLA T Venkat Rao met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, sparking rumors of him joining the Congress party. The MLA had previously visited Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in the city, but avoided discussing his potential party switch during his meeting with the CM. He focused on discussing developmental works in his constituency instead, showing a representation copy he had submitted. This was the MLA’s second meeting with the CM since the Assembly polls.

On another note, Bangaru Shruthi, the BJP State General Secretary and daughter of former BJP national president Bangaru Laxman, also met with Revanth Reddy recently. This meeting came right after BJP announced its first list of candidates and named P Bharat as the Nagarkurnool candidate. It is believed that BJP’s decision to nominate a leader who switched from BRS has put Shruthi in an uncomfortable position, as she was a top contender for the seat. Despite receiving 1.29 lakh votes in her previous unsuccessful attempt to contest from Nagarkurnool, Shruthi was hopeful to run again this time. However, the party’s choice of candidate has left her disappointed.
