Mahabubnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized the strong dedication of the Telangana government to finish the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. This project aims to turn the dry lands of Mahabubnagar into fertile areas. During a large public meeting, where he laid foundation stones for power projects worth ₹72 crore in Moosapet mandal, he criticized past governments for neglecting the region and making false promises.
Bhatti Vikramarka initiated the construction of one 132/33 kV substation and twelve 33/11 kV substations. This move shows the government’s focus on improving power supply for rural and farming communities. He assured that funds for the irrigation project, including those for resettlement and land acquisition, will be provided promptly. He mentioned the approval of ₹70 crore for the Uddandapur R&R package as proof of the government’s commitment.
He criticized the previous BRS regime, questioning why the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, started in 2015 by then CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao, is still unfinished after ten years. He dismissed the symbolic activation of pumps before elections as mere publicity and praised the current Congress-led administration under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for its genuine focus on people.
The Deputy CM also outlined significant welfare initiatives by the government. He stated that 4.5 lakh houses are being built under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, with ₹22,500 crore allocated. In Devarakadra alone, 3,500 houses have been approved. Other initiatives include 24/7 free power supply to farmers, free 200 units of domestic electricity to 50 lakh households, free RTC travel for women, and the “Rajiv Yuva Vikasam” scheme to help five lakh unemployed youth.
Additionally, he announced the ₹12,600 crore “Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam” to support tribal communities with solar pumps and borewells, aiding cultivation on 6.7 lakh acres.
In Nawabpet, Jadcherla constituency, Bhatti Vikramarka laid the foundation for a 132/33 kV substation costing ₹42 crore, and sixteen 33/11 kV substations at ₹54.37 crore. He accused the former government of betraying Palamuru and promised the Congress government would set a new standard in governance. During the event, 200 sewing machines were given to minority women, and housing documents were distributed to beneficiaries.
The event was attended by Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, MLAs Anirudh Reddy, Madhusudan Reddy, and Megha Reddy, along with District Collector G. Vijayendra Boi, and senior officials from TRANSCO, TGSPSCDL, and other departments. DCCB Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was also present.
