Hyderabad: Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy criticized the BRS party for planning to celebrate its silver jubilee, saying the party is only three years old. He questioned how the BRS, also known as the “pink party,” could celebrate 25 years when it hasn’t existed that long.
Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress MP asked whether the upcoming event in Warangal was for the TRS or BRS. He pointed out that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was formed 25 years ago, but that party no longer exists under that name. He said the current party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), is much newer and only three years old.
Kiran Kumar Reddy also accused BRS leaders of misusing government funds when they were in power. He said the party changed its name to BRS as it aimed to expand its reach nationally. “Will people see the name TRS or BRS on April 27?” he asked, expressing confusion over which party was actually being celebrated.
