Rajoli (Jogulamba Gadwal District), April 28:
In a major move to solve farmers’ land problems quickly, the Telangana government has introduced the Bhoo Bharati Act – 2025, announced District Collector B.M. Santhosh today.
Speaking at an awareness program held at Rythu Vedika in Rajoli Mandal, the Collector explained the new law to farmers. He stressed that the Bhoo Bharati Act was specially created to fix issues that arose from the earlier Dharani system. Santhosh urged all farmers to learn about the Act so they can fully benefit from its features.
The Act was launched after careful research and discussions with experts and officials. It was officially introduced on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, making the occasion even more special.
According to the Collector, the new law will speed up processes like land sales, registrations, mutations, regularization of assigned lands, and settlement of informal agreements, also known as Sada Bainama. It will also address border disputes and inheritance matters more efficiently.
Santhosh highlighted the law’s strong focus on transparency and quick grievance redressal. If farmers are unhappy with decisions made by Tahsildars, they now have the right to appeal first to the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), and then to the District Collector if needed.
One of the standout features of the Bhoo Bharati Act is the introduction of the Bhoodar Card. Similar to an Aadhaar card, this special ID will be given to every landowner to clearly establish ownership.
The Collector added that for any land purchase, property partition, or inheritance transfer, farmers must attach survey sketches prepared by authorized surveyors. This step aims to cut down on future disputes. Also, detailed maps will now be linked to Pattadar Passbooks to clearly show land boundaries and ownership details.
During inheritance (virasat) cases, notices will be sent to all related family members to prevent conflicts.
Santhosh also assured farmers that they can now correct any mistakes in their land records locally without long delays. Each village will host revenue conferences to directly solve land issues on the spot.
He encouraged farmers to fully use the opportunities offered by the Bhoo Bharati Act, calling it a complete and lasting solution for their land worries.
After his speech, the Collector took time to answer farmers’ questions and cleared many doubts.
The event also saw participation from key officials like Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Library Corporation Chairman Neeli Srinivasulu, Alampur Market Yard Chairman Dodappa, Rajoli Tahsildar Ram Mohan, Market Yard Vice-Chairman Kumar, MPDO Khaja Mohinuddin, Mandal Agriculture Officer Surekha, along with a large number of farmers and departmental staff.
