Hyderabad: The BJP is gaining strength in Telangana, according to state president N Ramchander Rao. He urged intellectuals, lawyers, farmers, women, youth, and students to join the party to help it rise to power.
On Sunday, Rao highlighted the party’s growth in the region. The BJP’s vote share increased from 13.9% in the 2023 assembly elections to over 36% in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, winning eight MP seats. The party also recently secured two MLC seats, showing its steady progress.
Rao asked people to give BJP a chance, promising good governance for Telangana’s development.
He criticized the current government for poor traffic management in the state capital, saying minor rains cause major issues. He urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to focus on solving local problems rather than frequently traveling to Delhi.
Mocking Revanth Reddy’s “Gateway of Hyderabad” slogan, Rao claimed it would become BJP’s entry to power in Telangana. He noted the recent joining of a two-time Achampeta MLA as a sign of the party’s forthcoming success.
Rao expressed satisfaction with the support received during his month-long tour across 16 districts. He traveled 3,500 km, meeting thousands of party workers and citizens, and received numerous public petitions.
He announced the second phase of his district tour starting August 18 to energize party workers.
MLA Palvai Harish Babu, MLC Anji Reddy, Achari, state party general secretaries Gujjala Premender Reddy and Kasam Venkateshwarlu, spokesperson N V Subhash, and treasurer Shanti Kumar, along with other leaders, were present.
