Khammam: Dr. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, BJP co-in-charge for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, spoke to the media on Saturday. He said that the recent changes to the Waqf Act will benefit poor Muslims.
He explained that the amended law will help protect Muslim lands from being taken away or misused. He also mentioned that tribal lands will be safeguarded under Schedule 5 and 6 of the Constitution. According to him, the new law is made to promote transparency and accountability.
Dr. Reddy accused opposition parties of trying to create unnecessary controversy around the Waqf Act. He claimed they are doing this only to gain political support.
