State Minister V Srinivas Goud, along with MLAs Jaipal Yadav and Anjaiah Yadav, criticized State BJP leaders for making an election stunt by announcing BC declaration. Goud expressed disappointment that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not provided enough opportunities for the backward classes even though they constitute over 60% of the Indian population. Goud also criticized the Centre for allocating just Rs.2,000 crore for BCs in the current budget while claiming that the State government had spent about Rs.1.5 lakh crore for BCs since 2014.
The BJP leaders’ declaration was an attempt to deceive BCs, according to Goud. He urged people not to fall for BJP tactics.
