The BJP District President in Kothagudem, KV Ranga Kiran, strongly criticized Congress MPs for mocking Vice President Jagdish Dhankhar. This action was taken after a request from the state party president, Kishan Reddy. As a result, BJP leaders protested and held a sit-in protest at the Kothagudem town bus stand.

During the protest, Kiran expressed his strong condemnation for the Congress MPs who imitated the Chairman of Rajya Sabha and made fun of him through gestures. He stated that TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee impersonating the Rajya Sabha Chairman, and Rahul Gandhi filming the event on his mobile, is an insult to democracy and the constitutional system.
