Gadwal, Telangana: A major step was taken today to support local farmers in Lathipuram village under Gadwal Mandal. Mandal President Srinivasulu led a team to visit the IKP (Indira Kranthi Patham) Center, aiming to improve services during the current paddy procurement season.
During the visit, District President Tapala Ram Anjaneyulu spoke to the gathered farmers. He assured them that the government is committed to making the crop procurement process smooth and fair. He stressed the need for quick and timely purchase of paddy and its immediate transport to the assigned rice mills.
He pointed out that many farmers had complained about unfair weight deductions. To address this, he instructed officials to follow transparent weighing methods. He warned that no cheating would be tolerated at any procurement center in the Jogulamba Gadwal district.
To ease the burden on farmers, he informed them that the central government is covering the full cost of gunny bags, tarpaulin sheets, and transportation. This support aims to reduce expenses for farmers and help them sell their produce without hassle.
With the summer heat rising, he also directed staff to provide basic comfort at the centers. Farmers will now have access to tents, buttermilk, and cold drinking water while they wait, helping them stay cool during the long hours at the centers.
The event saw strong participation from local leaders and farmers. Notable attendees included State Council Member Akkala Rama Saibaba, District Secretary Swapna, Former Mandal President Baleshwar Reddy, Mandal General Secretary Naresh Goud, and several farmers such as Madhu Reddy, Shekhar, Badri, and Ashok Reddy.
Many farmers from Lathipuram joined the program, showing their support and interest in the government’s efforts.
This visit marks a serious push by local leaders to ensure that farmer-friendly policies reach the grassroots. It reflects a clear commitment to solving problems on the ground and providing all necessary facilities for a successful procurement season.
