Hyderabad – On Sunday, several BJP leaders in the Old City of Hyderabad held a protest near Charminar, calling for the removal of people from Pakistan and Bangladesh who they claim are living in the city without legal documents.
The protest march started at Charminar and continued to Gulzar Houz, drawing attention to what the BJP calls a serious issue of illegal immigration. Protesters accused the Congress government of ignoring the matter and demanded immediate action.
Uma Mahender, president of BJP’s Golkonda district unit, strongly criticized Congress-led states for not doing enough. He said, “While other states are actively working to cancel visas and deport those staying illegally, Telangana and Karnataka governments are not showing the same urgency.”
He added that most states support the BJP-led Central Government's measures to protect national security. He urged the Congress governments to change their approach and show commitment to the country’s safety.
Among those present at the protest were Lal Singh, corporator of Goshamahal, Rajesh Jaiswal, corporator of Jambagh, and senior BJP leader Amar Singh, along with other party members.
The BJP leaders said they will continue to raise this issue until concrete steps are taken to identify and deport illegal residents from the city.
