Hyderabad: On Wednesday, BJP State Vice-President and former MLA NVVS Prabhakar led a protest in Cherlapally. He and several party members gathered to express anger over poor passenger facilities at the Cherlapally Railway Terminal.

Prabhakar said the terminal was built with a budget of ₹450 crore and was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a virtual event. Currently, around 26 trains operate from this station, including special trains that start, stop, or end their journeys here. Every day, thousands of people use this terminal.

Despite the investment, Prabhakar accused the state authorities of ignoring basic needs. He pointed out several problems—no street lights on the roads leading to the terminal, few buses during rush hours from TGSRTC, and no signboards to guide travelers. He blamed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for not installing signs or building approach roads.

He also mentioned that the Industries Department hasn’t helped improve the situation and there’s still no proper parking facility at the station.

Prabhakar demanded that the Telangana state government fix these issues immediately. He warned that if nothing changes, the protests will grow stronger with support from local residents. He criticized the Congress-led government in the state for not cooperating with the central government, which he said is spending huge amounts to develop Telangana.

He ended by saying that the government’s negligence is unacceptable and that public anger will keep rising if action is not taken soon.
