Hyderabad: The BJP Telangana unit is gearing up for grand Independence Day celebrations, focusing on the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and organizing Tiranga Yatras throughout the state.
State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao announced this during a press meet on Monday. He mentioned that the Government of India has been running the Har Ghar Tiranga program for five years, with this year being the sixth. This initiative encourages citizens to display the national flag at their homes and engage in patriotic activities.
“In Telangana, we’re planning large-scale events with help from state bodies, voluntary groups, schools, and other organizations,” Rao said. Preparations have begun in every district and mandal.
A state-level committee led by BJP Telangana State Vice President Dr. Manohar Reddy has been set up to manage the Independence Day events. Members include MLAs Palvai Harish Babu, spokesperson Rani Rudrama, BJYM state president Mahender Chevella, and MLC Malka Komuraiah. They will coordinate activities leading up to August 15.
A key event is the Tiranga Rally on August 14 at Necklace Road in Hyderabad, expected to attract over 15,000 college students. This is part of a wider series of statewide events. The BJP aims to hoist the tricolor on 14 lakh households in Telangana, with flags lowered by the evening of August 15.
On August 14, the party will observe Partition Remembrance Day with demonstrations, meetings, and programs in each district. Rao highlighted that these efforts seek to educate young people about India’s freedom struggle, the sacrifices involved, and the partition’s tragic history.
“I urge every citizen to join these celebrations, beyond politics and societal divisions, to honor our independence,” Rao appealed.
With cultural, educational, and patriotic activities planned, Telangana will experience vibrant celebrations, promoting unity, freedom, and national pride as Independence Day approaches.
