Hyderabad: On Tuesday, the Telangana BJP approached the Inspector General of Stamps & Registration with a memorandum. They highlighted several alleged issues with property registrations and land records in various districts of the state.
BJP leaders raised alarms about rising incidents of duplicate property registrations, irregular changes in records, and mismatches between actual land ownership and digital records, notably on the Dharani portal.
These problems, they claimed, are troubling landowners, particularly farmers and middle-class families, while also diminishing public confidence in the land management system. The memorandum accused some officials of working with private agents to increase registration fees and delay processes, undermining transparency and fairness.
The BJP called for urgent action. They urged the Inspector General to conduct a thorough review of large transactions and disputed records and to create a strong system for resolving grievances faced by citizens. The party stressed that maintaining integrity in the registration process is vital for protecting property rights and ensuring justice for the public.
