Khanapur: A brand-new Press Club building opened its doors in Jannaram mandal on Tuesday. MLA Vedma Bojju Patel officially launched the facility during an event attended by local leaders and journalists.
During the ceremony, MLA Patel praised the work of journalists. He called them a strong link between the public and the government, highlighting their role in keeping citizens informed about current events.
He emphasized that journalists play a key part in fighting social injustice. “The pen is a powerful weapon,” he said, stressing how reporters use it to expose truth and demand fairness.
The MLA also spoke about the government’s support for the media. He assured that efforts are being made to extend state welfare schemes to every journalist and their families. He promised more steps to protect their rights and ensure their well-being.
Several community figures joined the event, including Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Lakshmi Narayana, Congress Party Mandal President Muzaffar Ali, Press Club President Siliveri Narasaiah, and member Embadi Mallesham.
The new Press Club is expected to become a hub for local journalism and a space where reporters can work more effectively to serve the public.
