Rajapet (Yadadri-Bhongir) – Authorities have taken strict action after discovering serious issues at the Doodi Venkatapuram paddy procurement centre.
District Collector Hanumantha Rao has officially removed the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) and the PACS in-charge from their roles. This decision follows an investigation into their involvement in dishonest practices during paddy procurement.
The probe revealed that middlemen had bought around 400 quintals of paddy from local farmers at unfairly low prices. They then tried to resell the grain for profit, bypassing official procedures.
These unauthorized dealings cheated farmers and disrupted the fair procurement system. Authorities say this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
The Collector emphasized that the government is committed to protecting farmers’ rights and ensuring transparent grain procurement. Officials also warned that anyone found violating rules will face immediate action.
Further inquiries are underway to find out if more people were involved in the scam.
