Hyderabad: BRS leader Patolla Karthik Reddy has accused the central government of treating Telangana unfairly when it comes to distributing funds to the states. He claimed that a consolidated fund of Rs 2,500 crore was handed over to neighboring Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana was ignored. Reddy also criticized the Congress government for remaining silent on the issue.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Karthik Reddy blamed the Congress party for failing to secure funds that should have come to Telangana. He urged media organizations to question the injustice done to the state. According to him, the Rs 2,500 crore fund that went to Andhra Pradesh originally belonged to Telangana. He questioned whether the funds were transferred without the knowledge of Telangana’s leaders and challenged the Congress government to retrieve Rs 450 crore that was previously mistakenly sent to Andhra Pradesh.

Karthik Reddy further accused the BJP and Congress of working together to harm KCR politically. He expressed doubt that either party would help in bringing funds to Telangana. He dismissed the HYDRA demolitions as mere theatrics, comparing them to scenes from the movie “Gladiator.” He pointed out that people have been building houses in lakes within the ORR (Outer Ring Road) range for years, implying that the demolitions are unlikely to result in any meaningful change.
