Hyderabad: BRS leaders did not join the protest organized by Kalvakuntla Kavitha against notices sent to her father, K Chandrashekar Rao. Only a few of Kavitha’s loyal supporters were seen at the protest on Wednesday at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad.

Kavitha criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for not speaking out about the Andhra Pradesh government’s projects on the Godavari River. She urged the Chief Minister to complain to the Union government about the Banakacharla project on Godavari.

Kavitha questioned Revanth Reddy about his silence on N Chandrababu Naidu‘s fast-tracked efforts to complete the Banakacharla project without proper approvals. She asked the Chief Minister to alert the Apex Council and Union Jal Shakti ministry to safeguard Telangana‘s interests. Kavitha also criticized Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for not opposing the Banakacharla project, which she believes harms Telangana.

Kavitha explained why the previous BRS government initiated the Kaleshwaram project. It allowed for the use of 140 tmcft of Godavari waters, unlike the Pranahita–Chevella project by the former Congress government, which could only draw 16 tmcft.
