Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao criticized Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, accusing him of misusing his position to target K Chandrashekar Rao, the BRS Chief. He claimed the government released a misleading report lacking facts.

Harish Rao held a presentation titled ‘Congress Conspiracies on Kaleshwaram Project Commission’s Distortions vs Facts’ at Telangana Bhavan. This was broadcasted in district party offices to inform party members. He accused Revanth Reddy of neglecting governance for political revenge and releasing a fabricated report. He claimed that to clear bills, demands for 10–12% commissions were made and alleged collusion between the BJP and Congress in this vendetta.

He pointed out that the Polavaram project on the Godavari River failed thrice without the NDSA intervening, yet they rushed to Medigadda after a minor incident. Harish Rao criticized the inquiry as conspiratorial. When the 665-page report is presented in the Assembly, the BRS plans to challenge the government by presenting the truth. He argued the government selectively highlighted parts of the report, making it biased and baseless.

Harish Rao mentioned that previous commissions in the country often lacked legal standing. He questioned why no progress was made at Thammidihatti during Congress rule due to objections from Maharashtra and environmental concerns.

Through Mission Kakatiya, many tanks were restored and pending projects completed. Rao accused the Congress of focusing on commissions rather than development. He compared the harassment of Cotton Barrage builders to current events, claiming KCR will be revered in Telangana like Cotton is in Godavari. He affirmed Kaleshwaram as beneficial, known even by Revanth Reddy.

Harish Rao stated that the Kaleshwaram project was transparent, with all details in the DPR. The project’s goal was to supply water to farmers. Within a year, it received all necessary approvals from 11 central government agencies. He questioned why the Commission would blame these agencies or the central government now.
