Hyderabad: Security measures have been heightened at Gandhi Bhavan due to anticipated Cabinet changes. Many hopefuls are waiting for announcements, but some unrest is expected. Based on intelligence reports, there might be protests from supporters of leaders not chosen for the Cabinet. Thus, more security personnel were deployed on Tuesday.
Party insiders reveal that after several meetings in May, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) might soon announce the Cabinet expansion. The delay has increased the number of candidates vying for a spot. There are over twelve aspirants for the six available positions, representing different castes and regions. Rumors suggest that one or two current Ministers might be replaced to balance caste and social factors.
In light of potential disturbances, security, including female officers, has been strengthened at Gandhi Bhavan. If any disruptions occur, the party’s new Disciplinary Committee is ready to act. Additionally, Meenakshi Natarajan, the AICC State In-charge, is expected in Hyderabad on Wednesday to address the situation.
