Hyderabad: IAS officer Ronald Rose has received a major relief as the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has allowed him to continue working in Telangana.
Ronald Rose belongs to the Andhra Pradesh cadre but had been serving in Telangana for several years. He held important positions, including Secretary to the Finance and Energy Departments. He was also the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of power companies TRANSCO and GENCO.
According to the AP Reorganisation Act, Ronald Rose was officially assigned to Andhra Pradesh. However, he remained in Telangana until October last year. After the Department of Personnel and Training issued strict orders, the Telangana government released him, and he joined the Andhra Pradesh cadre.
Despite this, Ronald Rose wanted to stay in Telangana. He is known for being a highly capable officer and is valued by several key leaders in the Congress government. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka had given him important roles. He had also held top positions during the previous BRS government.
Now, with the CAT’s decision, Ronald Rose can continue his service in Telangana.
