Hyderabad: The Telangana government has formed a high-level committee to investigate the illegal and fraudulent sale of 103 acres of land belonging to the Bhoodan Yagna Board. This land is located in survey numbers 181 and 182 of Nagaram in Ranga Reddy district. The committee includes three senior IAS officers: Navin Mittal, Raghunandan Rao, and Shashanka.

The government informed the Telangana High Court about this in a memo dated March 17. The court hearing the matter includes Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Yara Renuka. They are reviewing a writ appeal filed by Mohammed Farooz Ali Khan and five others. These petitioners are legal heirs of the original landowner who donated the land to the Bhoodan Board. They are challenging a previous single-judge decision related to this land dispute.

The committee has been asked to review all documents and procedures related to the land sale and submit a report within three weeks of March 17. The land was sold to a private construction company, M/s. EIPL Constructions, represented by Kondapally Sridhar Reddy and Puttaramannagari Praveen.

The agency wants to understand how the land was transferred and sold using fake documents and investigate any illegal financial transactions.

The Bhoodan Board has started its own separate investigation. Using its powers under Section 24 of the Bhoodan Act, it issued an eviction notice to the construction company. The board also directed the District Collector to cancel the land ownership documents (patta passbook) issued to the company. The land has now been officially marked as belonging to the Bhoodan Board on the government’s Dharani Portal.

The court has postponed the next hearing in the case to April 24.
