    In a major crackdown on corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five senior officials from the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway.

    The officials taken into custody include Divisional Railway Manager Vineet Singh, Senior Divisional Finance Manager Kunda Pradeep Babu, Senior Chief Engineer (Track) U Akki Reddy, Office Superintendent (Engineering Section) M Balaji, and Account Assistant (Gati Shakti Office) D Lakshmi Pathi Raju.

    The arrests were made as part of an investigation by the CBI’s Anti-Corruption Unit III (AC-III) in New Delhi. The case was registered on July 4 under Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and other relevant laws.

    CBI DSP Jai Kumar Bhartiya stated that the arrested officials are being held for further questioning. The CBI has promised to continue its investigation to eliminate corruption within the railway division.
