Hyderabad: The CBSE regional kho-kho tournament 2024 has kicked off at VRS Vigyan Jyoti School in Bachupally. Around 5,500 athletes are participating in the event. These athletes are competing in three categories: under-14, under-17, and under-19, for both boys and girls. The tournament will last for four days.
Officials have shared that students from 200 CBSE-affiliated schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are taking part in the competition.
The tournament will end on September 25. For the opening ceremony, students held a march past as NCC cadets and also conducted Olympic torch events.
Several important guests attended the event, including Deputy Commissioner of Police P Satyanarayana Garu and Assistant Commissioner of Police G Hanumantha Rao, both from the Balanagar zone in Cyberabad. Asian kho-kho gold medallist, Pramod Thorat, was also present at the ceremony.
