Chicken prices in Hyderabad have risen due to weather conditions. Live chicken is now priced at Rs 170-180, dressed chicken at Rs 260-280, and boneless chicken at Rs 400.

Poultry owners have noted that consumption and prices of poultry products usually drop in the summer. However, a decrease in production caused by a rise in mortality during hot weather has led to a shortage, driving up prices.

Syed Fayaz, the owner of Fayaz Trading, attributed the price increase to higher demand, especially due to reduced supply during the summer heat in the State and an increase in weddings.

The prices of various types of chicken in Hyderabad have gone up in the past 15-20 days. Live chicken prices have increased from Rs 155 per kg to Rs 172-180 per kg. Rates for chicken with skin and without skin are also on the rise.

The surge in wedding events has contributed to the increased demand for chicken, further pushing up prices in Hyderabad. The summer heat is also playing a significant role in the price hike, as production has decreased due to high temperatures.

As the monsoon season approaches and temperatures are expected to drop, it is likely that chicken prices will decrease as well.
