The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao, is set to embark on a day-long tour of villages that have reported crop damage due to recent untimely rains across the state. The districts of Mahabubabad, Warangal, Karimangar, and Khammam have been instructed to make necessary arrangements for the CM’s visit, where he will meet with affected farmers and offer his condolences. Officials have hinted that KCR will likely announce a relief package for the rain-affected ryots during his visit.

Paddy, cotton, mango, and horticulture crops have been severely damaged in many parts of the northern Telangana districts, with preliminary estimates suggesting that nearly Rs 200 crore worth of crops have been lost due to heavy rain. Sources have reported that horticulture farmers in Karimangar district have been hit the hardest by the untimely rain.
