Gadwal: The village of Chinnonipalli in Gattu Mandal is in danger of being submerged due to the Nettempadu Reservoir project. The villagers are urgently asking the district administration for help. For the past 15 days, authorities have tried to divert water through canals, but the village is still flooding.

The Nettempadu project started in 2005 but is still not finished. The villagers are upset because the compensation they were offered years ago is no longer enough to build new homes. Prices for materials and other essentials have gone up a lot since then, making the old compensation rates insufficient.

The villagers are asking the government to update their compensation using the current Government Order (GO) and apply the same six-anchor package that was used in the Vattem project. They also want the government to provide all necessary facilities at the Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) center, including help with moving costs. There are still over 60 people who haven’t received their compensation, and the villagers want this to be resolved.

In addition, the villagers are asking for the reservoir project to be completed quickly and properly maintained. They also want plots of land to be given to all eligible youth aged 18 and above and for farmers to receive full land compensation according to the new GO.
