Hyderabad-based company Marut Drones has sent 10 drones to help people in Vijayawada who are affected by floods. These drones are delivering important supplies like food, medicines, and drinking water to people stuck in their homes. Marut Drones is working with the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation to make these deliveries possible. This is part of their Drone As a Service program, which is playing a big role in helping people during this difficult time.
The drones are making about 200 deliveries every hour. They are reaching between 4,000 and 5,000 people who have been affected by the floods. The goal is to help around 20,000 to 25,000 people by using these drones to bring them the supplies they need. Traditional ways of delivering aid are difficult because of the floodwaters, so the drones are providing a vital service.
Prem Kumar Vislawath, the CEO and Co-Founder of Marut Drones, explained how important this work is. He said, “During these challenging times, our drones are making a critical difference by reaching areas that manual aid struggles to access. By providing food, medicines, and essential supplies directly to those in need, we’re able to offer timely support and relief where it’s most needed.” He also mentioned that their technology is very helpful in navigating the flooded areas and making sure aid reaches the people who need it most.
