MEDAK: A brave rescue took place in Medak district where the Quick Response Team (QRT) police, along with local youth, saved a man from being swept away by floodwaters near the Gunduvagu stream under the Tekmal police station limits.
The incident happened on Tuesday when 45-year-old Ramavath Nandu was trapped in strong currents while trying to cross a bridge.
Nandu desperately held onto a rock in the stream to avoid being carried away. The Medak QRT police quickly received an emergency call and rushed to the scene. Home Guard Mahesh, along with two local youths, bravely entered the floodwaters using a rope for support. With great courage and teamwork, they managed to reach Nandu and pull him to safety.
Their heroic efforts were widely recognized. DGP Dr. Jitender and Additional DGP (Law & Order) Mahesh M Bhagwat praised Medak district SP Uday Kumar Reddy and the QRT members for their swift action. The team members, including Head Constable Bandi Srinivas, Police Constables Suresh Nayak, Krishna, Ramesh, and Home Guard Mahesh, were commended for their bravery.
