Heavy rains have caused serious flooding in Khammam district due to the Akeru Vagu stream overflowing. In response, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has taken important steps to help the people affected by the flood.

The Chief Minister has ordered officials to file a single First Information Report (FIR) for all residents who have lost or had their important documents, like Pattadar passbooks and Aadhaar cards, damaged by the flood. The government will then issue new documents to these residents.

Additionally, farmers who lost their crops in the floods will receive compensation of Rs. 10,000 per acre. CM Revanth Reddy visited the flood-hit areas, including Seetharampuram Tanda, to assess the damage firsthand. He met with affected families and assured them that the government would provide full support and aid.

To prevent future flooding, the Chief Minister directed officials to merge three frequently flooded hamlets, including Seetharam Tanda, into one larger village. New houses under the Indiramma scheme will be built at a single location for the residents of these hamlets. He also emphasized the importance of conducting scientific assessments of the Akeru Vagu stream to improve water management and ordered the construction of a new bridge to better control future floods.
