City chief urges officials to quickly solve complaints

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan urged officials to quickly handle issues raised at a public meeting. People from various areas came to the GHMC headquarters on Monday to share their concerns.

The Commissioner reviewed each complaint and instructed relevant staff to resolve them promptly. He stressed that officials should not neglect public concerns and emphasized the importance of addressing each issue thoroughly. Department heads were told to ensure that similar problems do not recur.

A total of 159 complaints were recorded during the Prajavani event, focusing on topics like town planning and streetlights. Specifically, 66 complaints were logged at the headquarters. The Town Planning Department received 32, while the Tax and Sanitation Departments each got 8. The Engineering Department had 5 complaints, the UBD Department received 3, and there was one complaint each for the Veterinary, Kukatpally Zone, Vigilance, LWS, Admin, Estate, and Finance Departments.

The Prajavani phone-in program received 3 requests, all forwarded to the correct departments. In the six zones under GHMC, 93 complaints were noted. Kukatpally Zone and Secunderabad Zone each received 33 complaints, Serilingampally Zone had 18, and LB Nagar Zone and Charminar Zone each got 4. Khairatabad Zone had one complaint. Present at the meeting were Additional Commissioners Pankaja, Geetha Radhika, Satyanarayana, Venu Gopal, Mangatayar, CE Ratnakar, Housing CE Nityananda, and other officials.
