Hyderabad: RV Karnan, the commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), recently checked on the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) drain between Nagamaiah Kunta and Padma Nagar in the Musheerabad area of Secunderabad.
He instructed engineering teams to request the necessary funds and finish the remaining drain work quickly. He also called for the construction of slabs and boundary walls to cover the open drain and prevent accidents.
Karnan warned the engineers that if they failed to put up warning signs during the rainy season or road repairs, they would face disciplinary action. He also directed his teams to set up safety measures like a safety link mesh and parapet walls to protect local residents and meet urban standards.
