Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud will attend a meeting on March 22 about the issue of Delimitation. The meeting is organized by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin.

The discussion is important because many leaders oppose the Delimitation process if it is based only on population. The meeting aims to put pressure on the central government. Leaders from Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, and other non-BJP ruled states will also participate.

Revanth Reddy has strongly opposed the idea. During his visit to Kerala on February 9, he warned that if Delimitation is based on population, southern states might lose seats instead of gaining them. He suggested to the Prime Minister that the number of constituencies in southern states should be increased by 50%. He also warned that if the BJP wins seats mainly from BIMARU states, they may not rely on southern states, which could harm democracy.

Earlier in 2024, during a visit to Delhi, Reddy pointed out that the Delimitation process was unfair to South India. He suggested that it should be based on the 1971 census. He also stressed the need for public discussion before any decision is made.
