BRS leader M. Krishank has accused the Congress government of misleading the public about sand mining revenue. He claimed that the government is wrongly stating that it is earning more from sand mining than the previous BRS administration.

Krishank explained that during the BRS rule, the price of fine sand per metric ton was Rs 1,200, which included GST and transportation costs. However, under the Congress government, the price has risen to Rs 1,800 per metric ton, excluding GST and transportation. He argued that this increase places an extra financial burden on the people of Telangana.

He also refuted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claim of higher revenue collection. Krishank pointed out that during the BRS government, daily sand revenue was Rs 3.5 crore, which means the current government’s earnings are not unusual. He questioned why the Congress government’s annual revenue target remains at Rs 800 crore if it is truly collecting more money, as stated in an official order by the Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC).

He also mentioned the ongoing protests by lorry associations against the Congress government’s new sand mining policy. He accused the government of violating environmental guidelines with its policy changes.
