Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed disappointment with district in-charge ministers for neglecting their assigned areas. He urged them to focus more on winning the upcoming local body elections. Reddy warned that those not supporting the party’s efforts will lose their roles before the elections.
At the Political Affairs Committee meeting, led by PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud with AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy stressed the importance of ministers paying attention to their districts. He made it clear that the success in local elections lies with these ministers. He also instructed them to fill nominated posts quickly and urged leaders to actively engage with party workers on the ground. “If you work hard for the party, opportunities will arise. I became Chief Minister through my responsibilities in the Congress Party. If you don’t perform after getting a position, the PCC President will replace you. We must focus on winning local body elections,” he said.
Addressing the dharnas by some legislators seeking cabinet positions, the CM questioned the need for such protests. He acknowledged the desire for posts but cautioned that dharnas could lead to party indiscipline.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that most current leaders grew from grassroots, assuring that hardworking members will earn positions. He shared that his own rise was due to the Congress party, emphasizing that those committed to the party will gain government roles.
During the event, new PCC vice presidents and general secretaries received their appointment papers. Additionally, Reddy launched a book titled “Vidhvamsam nunchi Vikasam varaku” (From Destruction to Development) authored by Mahesh Kumar Goud.
