Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered a 30-day inquiry into land surrounding the farmhouse of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in Erravelli, Siddipet district. The directive came on 16 September 2026 during a legislative debate on Section 22-A prohibited lands. The Chief Minister alleged that the property spans approximately 700 acres, of which 388 acres is government-assigned land that should be recovered and redistributed.
Revanth Reddy announced that the recovered land would be given as half-acre pattas to 800 Dalit families under the Dalit Bandhu scheme. He directed revenue officials and the Siddipet Collector to serve notice on KCR immediately, verify purchased land versus actual holdings, and complete the investigation within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Minister warned of action against officials if they fail to meet the deadline.
The Chief Minister also presented details of the Kalvakuntla family holdings across nine districts, claiming they total around 439 acres. According to his figures, the KCR family owns 67 acres, the KTR family holds 123 acres, the Harish Rao family possesses 30 acres, the Kavitha family has 37 acres, with other relatives holding additional land. Revanth Reddy claimed these holdings exceed land-ceiling limits and alleged irregularities worth ₹1 lakh crore during the BRS regime.
On 17 September, revenue teams began inspecting the Erravelli farmhouse as part of the probe. Simultaneously, Congress-backed banners targeting the KCR family appeared on flyovers in Hyderabad, escalating the political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS.
KTR strongly rejected the allegations and offered a High Court or Supreme Court-monitored audit of his family’s assets spanning from 1954 to 2026. He questioned Revanth Reddy’s own educational credentials and family land holdings. KTR clarified that his father resides at the farmhouse while he stays in Narsingi.
Harish Rao dismissed the Chief Minister’s figures, pointing out that Revanth had earlier claimed 1,000 acres but now cited 67 acres of patta land. He alleged that Revanth’s family owns approximately 308 acres. Harish Rao demanded a probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the 22-A list and irregularities in Dharani and Bhu Bharati land records. He noted that some assigned-land registrations involving his relatives occurred under previous Congress governments and called for Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to resign over the 22-A controversy.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is overseeing the notices and inspection process. He questioned how assigned lands linked to Harish Rao’s relatives were registered and maintained that such registrations are illegal regardless of which government permitted them. The minister has countered BRS allegations regarding the 22-A list.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that most of the 22-A list comprises government land and that the Congress government has already removed tens of thousands of acres from the prohibited category. He maintained that the investigation would proceed according to legal procedures and that all irregularities would be addressed irrespective of when they occurred.
