Hyderabad:
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to finalize a new diet plan for students living in social welfare hostels. He wants the new plan to be implemented within 10 days.
The CM made this decision during an informal meeting with top officials. The goal of the new diet plan is to ensure that students in these hostels get nutritious food every day. This change comes after the government decided to increase the Diet and Cosmetic charges for students staying in social welfare hostels.
State Principal Secretary to Education, B Venkatesham, along with other welfare department secretaries, met with CM Revanth Reddy to thank him for this important decision. The new diet plan and increased charges are being seen as a ‘Diwali gift’ for students in government-run hostels. This includes hostels for students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), minorities, and those in Telangana Residential Educational Institution Society (TREIS) hostels.
The secretaries expressed their happiness about the government’s implementation of the Official Committee’s recommendations to increase the diet charges, which will benefit all students in these hostels.
