Hyderabad: Aspirants hoping for a spot in the cabinet expansion may face disappointment, as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy clarified that his upcoming trip to Delhi is not related to discussing cabinet expansion with the party high command.

The Chief Minister explained that his visit to Delhi is solely to attend the wedding of Om Birla’s daughter, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Revanth expressed his frustration with media speculation, stating that every time he travels to Delhi, rumors about cabinet expansion start circulating, with some even naming potential ministers and predicting swearing-in dates. Meanwhile, opposition BRS has accused him of carrying money bags to the AICC, which he dismissed.

Revanth Reddy further elaborated that his trips to Delhi are primarily to meet Union Ministers and address pending issues related to Telangana. He emphasized that he works to secure funds owed to the state and resolve long-standing concerns since the state’s formation. Additionally, he plans to meet Congress MPs during his visit to discuss issues they should address in the upcoming winter session of Parliament.

When asked if he would meet Union Ministers this time, Revanth said he would try to secure appointments and meet them if possible.

Taking a jab at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Revanth Reddy remarked that he is not someone who bows before the Prime Minister or begs others to influence the Governor against granting permission for his arrest. He criticized KTR’s recent statements, suggesting that KTR might be under the impression that going to jail could pave the way for him to become Chief Minister. Revanth added that this seems unlikely, as KTR’s sister, who recently left jail, has already outpaced him in the race for the CM position. He concluded by commenting that there appears to be intense competition for the Chief Minister’s chair within the BRS family.
