Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a strong warning to District Collectors. He said that the government will take action against officials who do not meet the goals of welfare and development schemes. He also questioned some Collectors for not regularly sending updates to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
During a Collectors Conference, the Chief Minister gave clear instructions regarding the Bhu Bharati portal, the Indiramma housing scheme, and the supply of drinking water in the summer. He said that the government is keeping track of the Collectors’ work. If officials prefer staying in air-conditioned offices instead of visiting the field, they will be removed from their positions and shifted elsewhere.
The Chief Minister also said he may hold one-on-one meetings with Collectors soon. These meetings will help him understand how well the schemes are reaching the people.
Collectors were asked to attend meetings in every mandal (local administrative unit) and explain the Bhu Bharati portal to farmers in simple language. They should address any concerns or doubts raised by the public.
Special pilot meetings for the Bhu Bharati project will be held in Maddur (Narayanapet district), Nelakondapalli (Khammam district), Lingampeta (Kamareddy district), and Venkatapur (Mulugu district). The Chief Minister instructed Collectors to attend these meetings along with the local revenue staff. State Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and other ministers will also be present.
Speaking about the Indiramma housing scheme, the Chief Minister said it is a matter of pride for the government. He warned that no one should give in to pressure while allotting houses. If houses are given to ineligible people, serious action will be taken against the mandal-level committee and the special officer involved.
Due to the upcoming summer season, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of ensuring a steady supply of drinking water. He asked Collectors to stay alert and report any issues like motor breakdowns in Hyderabad or other towns. These problems should be fixed quickly, with top priority.
