Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticized the past BRS government for ignoring weaker sections, particularly in education. He noted that BRS failed to conduct Group 1 exams during its tenure and is now blocking exams held by the current government with legal cases.
At the Gurukula award function at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Reddy accused the opposition of political scheming to delay Group-1 appointment orders. He claimed the previous government discouraged SC, ST, and BC students from education, pushing them towards traditional jobs with schemes like goat and fish distribution.
Reddy questioned why BRS didn’t support weaker sections’ involvement in governance through education. He highlighted their decade-long failure to release job notifications, affecting the unemployed.
The Chief Minister condemned the opposition for quickly securing posts for family members post-election defeat, denying jobs to deserving youth.
In contrast, Reddy stated the current administration has filled 59,000 government jobs and conducted Group 1 exams successfully.
He emphasized that the last government neglected Group 1 exams and now obstructs progress with court cases, turning it into a social issue.
Reddy highlighted the appointment of the first Dalit Vice-chancellor in Osmania University‘s 100-year history, and the recognition of Aakunuri Murali and Gaddam Prasad Kumar for their educational achievements. He stressed that the country’s future is rooted in education.
