Hyderabad: The state government, in power for 18 months, is facing criticism for slow administrative work. Many ministers are frustrated with the sluggish pace at the state Secretariat. Key departments are missing deadlines, and file processing is delayed.
Education and MA&UD, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, are also slow. Finance, agriculture, R&B, civil supplies, endowments, panchayat raj, and welfare departments take too long to clear important files on policies, employee issues, and fund releases.
The state announced road development under the HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model), but the R&B Department is slow to start due to delays in finalizing private partners. The government funds 40% under HAM, with private agencies covering 60%. Many files are stuck at the Secretariat.
R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is urging faster work, but there’s little progress. Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy planned new ration cards by May, but no arrangements are made yet. He wants swift action, but the officials aren’t responding to the urgency.
Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao pushes for quick fund release under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Farmers with over five acres await benefits, but delays from finance and agriculture departments are causing frustration.
The endowments department is slow with Minister Konda Surkeha’s orders to fund temple renovations. Panchayat Raj faces similar issues, especially in districts. The Chief Minister urged MA&UD to speed up urban development across 17 authorities, but files are still pending.
Ministers are upset with Secretaries for not implementing decisions or clearing files on promotions, transfers, and benefits for government employees. Some Secretaries blame GAD officials for file approval delays despite ministerial requests.
