Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday stressed the importance of strong support from the Central government to boost the state’s growth. He said he is willing to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as many times as needed to secure more funding for Telangana's development.
Speaking at a public event in Sangareddy, where he unveiled a statue of Basaveshwara Maharaj, Revanth Reddy said that Telangana needs generous help from the Union government to speed up its progress. He made it clear that while he’ll talk politics during elections, his focus during the rest of the time is only on improving the state.
Taking a sharp dig at former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Reddy said the Leader of the Opposition should attend Assembly sessions regularly and take part in discussions on public issues. He urged KCR to give constructive feedback and help improve government programs. “If he stays away from the Assembly except during his rule, the people will respond strongly,” Reddy warned.
He also said he remains open and approachable to everyone. “Even as Chief Minister, I don’t show pride or favoritism. I meet people from all backgrounds. I won’t rest until Telangana is fully developed,” he said.
Revanth Reddy accused KCR of failing to deliver on his promise of providing one government job per family. “He didn’t keep that promise to the public, but ensured jobs for his own family members,” he said. In contrast, Reddy stated that his government prioritized job recruitment and quickly filled vacancies in government departments after coming to power.
Highlighting his administration’s progress, the Chief Minister outlined several welfare initiatives. He said his government has waived farmers’ loans and is working to uplift the farming community. “We are also empowering women. Our goal is to make one crore women millionaires within five years,” he said confidently.
Reddy concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serving the people and building a stronger, more prosperous Telangana.
