Collector Adarsha Surabhi has decided to enforce the Revenue Recovery (RR) Act on 40 mills in Wanaparthy district. This decision comes after certain mills failed to comply with payment requirements.
According to the Wanaparthy Civil Supply DM, a total of 120 crores is owed by these 40 mills. The decision to apply the RR Act was made after raids were conducted on six mills earlier today.
One of the mills, Shiv Sai Industries Rice Mill in Rangapur, failed to pay its dues for Kharif 2021-2022 and Rabi 2021-2022. The mill had been issued notices twice in the past for the payment of Rs. 3,57,22,693, but the dues were still not cleared.
As a result of the unpaid dues, the RR Act was enforced on six mills in the district today. During the enforcement, the authorities went to the house of Janumpalli village, where the owner of Shiv Sai Industries rice mill, Vijaya’s husband Sri Venkataramireddy, resides. They confiscated goods from their house.
The operation was carried out with the participation of Pebbair Tahsildar Lakshmi, MPDO, Deposit Tahsildar, Deputy Tahsildar, ASI, Constables, Junior Assistants, and others.
