Nagarkurnool: On Tuesday, District Collector Badavath Santosh made an unannounced visit to Srinivasa Fertilizers in the district’s main area. He checked the stock and quality of seeds and fertilizers during his visit.
The Collector assured that steps are in place to provide farmers with high-quality seeds. He warned that anyone caught selling fake seeds or engaging in fraud would face severe consequences.
He instructed that all sales must be through the e-POS system and fertilizers should be sold only at the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). He cautioned against selling overpriced or adulterated fertilizers, stating that violations would lead to strict actions. All fertilizer shops need to maintain their licenses, stock records, bill books, and have accurate inventories of urea, DAP, and other products.
Special task force teams will regularly check these shops at both the mandal and village levels. The Collector also urged farmers to contact local agriculture officers if they have any questions or issues.
District Agriculture Officer Chandrasekhar and others accompanied him during the inspections.
