Wanaparthy: The southwest monsoon has arrived early in Telangana. On Tuesday, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi instructed officials to cover the paddy at the IKP procurement centre with tarpaulins. This action will protect the crop from rain.
While visiting the procurement centre in Edutla village, located in Gopalpet mandal, he emphasized the need to quickly weigh and load paddy with the right moisture onto lorries.
The Civil Supplies officer was asked to arrange more lorries and increase labor to expedite the grain’s movement. Farmers mentioned that paddy harvesting is still ongoing in the area.
Later, Surabhi inspected modern agricultural warehouses. He directed the removal of old gunny bags to clear the warehouse space. He also told the Civil Supplies officer to ensure fast transport of paddy by coordinating with contractors to prevent delays.
