Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has ordered officials to speed up the land acquisition for the Jawahar Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Project (Right Canal).
On Saturday, a review meeting took place at the Collectorate to check the progress of acquiring ayacut land.
During the meeting, Santosh highlighted the need for timely completion of land acquisition. He urged officials to ensure that farmers receive their compensation quickly. Notices have been sent to the affected farmers, and Santosh instructed that compensation cheques under packages 99/B and 100 be fully paid, leaving no pending payments.
The Collector also asked revenue and irrigation officials to talk to farmers who haven’t accepted their cheques. He stressed the project’s importance and encouraged cooperation to speed up the process. Both the Revenue and Irrigation Departments must work together smoothly to advance this crucial project for the district’s irrigation.
The meeting saw the presence of Additional Collector Lakshminarayana, Special Deputy Collector Srinivas Rao, Irrigation SE Rahimuddin, departmental DEs and AEs, Gadwal Tahsildar Mallikarjun, Dharur Tahsildar Narendra, and other officials.
