Karimnagar: District Collector Pamela Satpathy had surgery on Sunday at the Government General Hospital due to respiratory issues.
The Collector had long suffered from headaches, nasal congestion, sinusitis, and breathing problems. Despite taking medication with an ENT specialist’s guidance, her condition didn’t improve, prompting surgery.
GGH Medical Superintendent G Veera Reddy stated that Satpathy underwent endoscopic nasal and septoplasty surgeries, led by ENT surgeons L Ravikanth, Sandeep, and Madhumita.
Reddy noted this surgery marks the first time a high-ranking official like the Karimnagar Collector received treatment at a government hospital. Previously, only childbirths of officials and their families occurred in such facilities.
Recently, Peddapalli District Collector Koya Sriharsha’s wife delivered a baby boy at Godavarikhani General Hospital. Additionally, Vemulawada Junior Civil Judge Jyothirmayi had a son through normal delivery at Vemulawada Area Hospital. In 2023, she also had a daughter there, making her a role model.
Meanwhile, Collector Satpathy received praise from CM Revanth for choosing a government hospital. He tweeted about the modern facilities and skilled staff, commending her for boosting public confidence in these hospitals. Union Minister Bandi Sajay also praised the Collector.
