Kothagudem: The Burgumphad High School, one of the oldest schools in the area, is facing serious challenges due to a lack of basic facilities. The school, which was established in 1955, has a long history and has educated many students who have gone on to hold important positions in their community.
This year, the school has 230 students and 20 staff members. Students from different villages in Burgumphad Mandal attend the school. Some students live in hostels for SC (Scheduled Castes) and BC (Backward Classes) students, while others travel to school daily.
Despite having so many students, the school only has eight restrooms. Unfortunately, all of these restrooms are in very poor condition, forcing students to relieve themselves outside. This situation has caused a lot of distress among the students, who are now asking the authorities to provide basic amenities for their school.
One of the school employees told The Hans India that about 15-20 students often leave class early to go to nearby hostels to use the restrooms. This highlights how urgent the situation is.
The students have also asked the government to provide funds for expanding the school. The lack of a watchman has made the problem worse, as outsiders have entered the school grounds and damaged the facilities.
Both the students and staff are requesting the appointment of a watchman and the construction of new restrooms to solve these pressing issues.
