MLA Megha Reddy Accuses BRS of Conspiracy in Welfare Hostels

Wanaparthy: MLA Megha Reddy has made a serious allegation against the BRS party, particularly its leader RS Praveen Kumar. He claimed that the party is behind incidents of food poisoning in welfare gurukul hostels, accusing them of attempting to tarnish the Congress-led state government’s reputation.

RS Praveen Kumar, who previously held the position of secretary for welfare hostels during the BRS regime, is said to have played a key role in appointing food contractors and workers through direct nominations. According to Megha Reddy, some of these contractors still remain under Praveen Kumar’s influence.

The MLA highlighted the government’s efforts to improve education for underprivileged students, such as increasing diet and cosmetic charges in welfare hostels. He believes these steps have gained the trust of poor students and their families. However, Megha Reddy accused the BRS of hatching a “sinister plot” because they cannot accept the rising credibility of the Congress government.

To address the issue, Megha Reddy urged Congress leaders and workers in Wanaparthy constituency to visit welfare hostels, including those serving KGBV, SC, ST, BC, and minority students. He advised them to have meals with the students, boost their confidence, and ensure that the hostels are closely monitored.

Additionally, Megha Reddy called for immediate action to resolve students’ grievances and prioritize their health and well-being. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the trust that the government has built among the hostel residents and their families.
