Hyderabad: There is speculation that the second list of nominated posts will be announced by the end of this month. As a result, intense lobbying has resumed for the remaining positions. The leadership has already filled 35 positions, and key leaders who gave up MLA and MP seats are now aiming for top posts like chairman of the HMDA and Musi River Development Front.
According to party sources, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has agreed on most of the remaining nominated posts. He had discussions with ministers, especially those who objected to the first list. Various levels of deliberations took place to finalize the candidates, and after the CM’s return, the process is expected to conclude. A senior leader mentioned that the list should have been announced earlier, but it was delayed due to Ashadam. Now that Shravan masam has started, which is considered auspicious, the list will likely be released by the end of this month.
There were complaints that some sections faced injustice while others were given undue priority. This time, it is believed that everyone will be given their due. Leaders who were promised positions during the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, in return for not contesting, will also be given top priority. These leaders are vying for key positions in existing corporations, commissions, and authorities.
The positions include RTC, Musi Riverfront Development Project, Renewable Energy Development Corporation, Hyderabad Agricultural Cooperative Association, Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation, and the proposed Farmers’ Commission. Aspirants are once again approaching key leaders within the Congress party who can influence decision-making and present their proposals to Revanth Reddy. PCC working president and MLC, B Mahesh Kumar Goud, and CM’s advisor, Vem Narender Reddy, are being approached by many aspirants.
