Hyderabad: Congress MLA T Jagga Reddy has criticized the opposition for questioning the State government’s significant allocations for the Musi riverfront development project. He believes that those who oppose the project are against development. Jagga Reddy challenged Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar to publicly oppose the project if they believe it is unnecessary.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Jagga Reddy accused BJP leaders of trying to create unease among people regarding the Musi riverfront project. He emphasized that the project would not only develop the entire city but also make Hyderabad more beautiful and less polluted.
Jagga Reddy urged BJP leaders to decide if they support development. He asked Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy to clarify their stance. If they think the Musi project is a waste, he challenged them to officially oppose it. He also questioned whether the BJP’s seven-year Mission for Clean Ganga, which spent over Rs 30,000 crore, was free of corruption.
Addressing claims by BRS that the ruling Congress stifled opposition voices during the Budget session, Jagga Reddy questioned KTR and Harish Rao if any opposition members were suspended. He argued that under the BRS government, the opposition was never allowed to speak, and members of the Congress were suspended. However, under Revanth’s leadership, the Assembly ran smoothly, giving BRS leaders more time to speak than the ruling Congress. Despite this, BRS leaders continue to make baseless allegations, Jagga Reddy said.
